Northwest Africa 14086 (NWA 14086) Morocco Find: 2021 Jan Classification: Ureilite (polymict) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Brecciated blocky aggregate of olivine (some with reduced rim), and a lesser amount of pyroxene and plagioclase. Metal and troilite are present. Abundant millimeter-size angular clusters of carbon are present. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa14.7±7.1, range Fa0.4-23.7, CaO 0.32±0.12, Cr2O3 0.60±0.25, FeO/MnO 31.8±15.7 (n=16). Pigeonite Fs17.5±3.7Wo7.2±1.2, FeO/MnO 29.6±8.3 (n=7), and Fs3.2Wo1.1, FeO/MnO 10.0 (n=1). Plagioclase An10.4Ab86.4Or3.1 (n=2), and An86.2Ab13.7Or0.1 (n=1). Classification: Ureilite (polymict breccia). Abundant geometric, mm-sized clusters of carbon are a remarkable feature. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE.
