Loulan Yizhi 028 ~40°26’N, ~89°54’E Xinjiang, China Find: 2019 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6) History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Ziyao Wang from Jianming Wang in Hami/Xinjiang in 2019. This meteorite was discovered in the Loulanyizhi dense collection area in 2019. Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) Black-brown stone of 59 g with fusion crust Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) chondrule margins (PP, PO, BO) are difficult to discern in the strongly recrystallized matrix; metal and sulfide mainly show irregular inclusions. Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa24.6±0.5 (n=19); pyroxene Fs20.4±0.3 (n=12), Wo1.5±0.3; feldspar An11Or6; chromite CRAL86, FFM88; troilite. Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.58. Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6, S3, W3) Specimens: 12.4 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 14 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
