Writeup from MB 106:
Elbogen, change in fall status.

A review of the literature on Elbogen shows no evidence that this iron meteorite was witnessed to fall.  Nothing in the Buchwald entry (referenced on this page) or in Neumann (1812) documents a fall event. The tradition of Elbogen as "der verwünschte Burggraf" is used to suggest its arrival in town "in the last half of the 14th century or the first third of the 15th century" in order to coincide with the historical presence of a burgrave there (mayor Kopetzky; in Neumann, 1812), but nothing seems to support the exact year 1400.
