Northwest Africa 6280 (NWA 6280) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2010 Mar Classification: Rumuruti chondrite (R5) Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS): Fresh fragmental breccia; larger clasts have fairly distinct chondrules. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa39.1-39.7; Cr2O3 = 0.23-0.42 wt.%), orthopyroxene (Fs30.2-31.8Wo0.3-0.2), pigeonite (Fs11.5-11.7Wo6.2-6.5), sodic plagioclase, Ti-chromite, pentlandite and iron sulfide (probably pyrrhotite). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
