Northwest Africa 5587 (NWA 5587) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2008 Classification: Ureilite Petrography: The meteorite is composed of coarse-grained (up to 2 mm) olivine and pigeonite. Olivine shows reduced rims; pigeonite is compositionally zoned, i.e. Mg-rich cores and Fe-rich rims. Carbon is present as graphite. Geochemistry: reduced olivine rims: Fa6.6-14.1; Cr2O3 in olivine: about 0.5 wt% | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
