Northwest Africa 14327 (NWA 14327) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: June, 2021 Classification: Ureilite History: The meteorite was purchased from a group of meteorites hunters in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, in June, 2021. Physical characteristics: Dark brownish rock partly covered with fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite shows a protogranular texture of mainly olivine and pigeonite crystals up to 2 mm in size. It is highly reduced with olivine displaying broad reduced rims. Graphite is abundant and some shock melt pockets are present. Geochemistry: reduced rims in olivine: Fa1.0-1.6; olivine contains 0.75±0.03 wt% Cr2O3 and 0.39±0.02 wt% CaO; reduced rims in pyroxene: Fs2.3-5.5Wo5.1-5.5; pigeonite contains 1.16±0.03 wt% Cr2O3 and 0.53±0.02 wt% Al2O3 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
