MExAG Annual Meeting 2022
February 1–3, 2022
Virtual
This will be the second meeting of the Mercury Exploration Assessment Group (MExAG). The agenda will include an overview of NASA programs, ongoing science of the innermost planet, updates on ongoing concepts for future spacecraft missions, discussion of the MExAG Goals Document for the future of Mercury science and exploration.
This meeting is open to everyone with an interest in the science and exploration of the planet Mercury.
Program and Presenter Information
Detailed information about the agenda is available by viewing the online program. Authors will not receive notification letters. Authors should review their names in these products and, if updates are needed, email them to [email protected].
The meeting is scheduled to begin each day at 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time (CST). The virtual meeting will be delivered using Zoom for Government Meetings. Closed captioning will be available during the meeting. Gather.town will be available during the meeting for networking and the poster session.
Oral Presentation Information
An assigned moderator will manage all presentation slides to expedite the meeting. Send oral presentation PowerPoint files to [email protected] or via large file transfer.

Oral presenters will have the opportunity to test and become familiar with the Zoom for Government Meetings platform prior to the meeting.
Poster Presentation Information
Poster presenters will upload an electronic file of their posters (e-posters) prior to the meeting. The e-poster tool provides additional exposure by giving attendees and others the ability to view posters online and in Gather.town. Poster presenters will give one-minute, one-slide lightning talks during the meeting and will be featured during a one-hour poster session in Gather.town. Poster presenters will have the opportunity to test and become familiar with the RingCentral Meetings platform prior to the meeting.

E-Poster submission deadline – January 25, 2022
E-Poster Instructions
To submit an e-poster:
- Log in to the abstract submission page of the meeting portal: https://www.hou.usra.edu/meeting_portal/abstract_submission/.
- Next to the listing of your MExAG abstract that was assigned to a poster, click on the e-poster link in the action column to go to the e-poster upload page.
- All e-posters must be submitted in pdf format.
- The maximum file size allowed is 10.0 MB.
- Use the browse button to locate the file containing the e-poster on your computer, acknowledge the copyright statement, click the “Submit” button once, and wait for the confirmation screen.
- You will receive a confirmation email with a direct link to your e-poster.
To view submitted e-posters:
- Visit the “View E-Posters” link on the meeting website. https://www.lpi.usra.edu/mexag/meetings/feb2022/
- Use the abstract search function to find a particular abstract. Abstracts with e-posters will have an additional link in the search result that allows you to view the associated poster.
To revise e-posters (before the deadline only):
- Return to the abstract submission page of the meeting portal and click on the e-poster link that appears next to the title of the abstract you submitted.
- Upload the revised version of your e-poster.

Registration
Registration fees are not being collected for this meeting, but registration is required. Registration will be available through February 3. Before the meeting, registered attendees will receive an email from Houston Meeting Info with virtual connection information.
MExAG Meeting Participation Stipends Available
The MExAG Steering Committee is pleased to announce the availability of meeting participation stipends for the MExAG Virtual Annual Meeting on February 1–3, 2022. These stipends aim to ensure active participation in MExAG 2022, particularly by students and early-career researchers. However, applications are welcome from any community member for whom assistance would ensure the ability to participate in the meeting (e.g., defray costs for child/elder care, etc.).
Application deadline extended: January 15, 2022
Meeting Participation Stipend Criteria
- Be the first author of a presentation for MExAG 2022.
- Demonstrate personal and professional benefits of participation in MExAG 2022.
- Demonstrate the substantial merit of your submitted presentation summary.
- Attend and actively participate in MExAG 2022.
- Be able to receive income in the United States (stipends are considered income).
- Civil servants and members of the military are not eligible for these stipends.

- A short CV (1 page maximum)
- Copy of submitted abstract
- Answers to the following questions:
- How will attending MExAG 2022 enhance your career?
- How will you be an active and engaged participant in the meeting?
- What unique perspectives do you bring to the MExAG community?
