February 3-4, 2020 OPAG Meeting

The Outer Planets Assessment Group (OPAG) Meeting will be held February 3–4, 2020, at the Lunar and Planetary Institute located at 3600 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, Texas 77058.

Registration fees are not being collected for this meeting, but registration is required for communication and planning purposes. Meeting Agenda

OPAG Poster Session

OPAG will host a poster session the on February 3, for technology and mission concepts/studies. Posters should focus on ICEE-2 and similar Icy World in-situ instruments and sampling systems. Posters that focus on science investigations will also be accommodated if space is available.

If you wish to present a poster at OPAG, please send the title and first author to Dr. Morgan Cable by February 1. Please include ‘OPAG Poster Presentation’ in the subject line. Presentation requests will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Please expect to receive a notification from Dr. Cable via email when your intent to present has been accepted.

After the meeting, presenters will be invited to electronically submit an abstract and the poster file to be archived on the OPAG website. Please note the previous announcement prematurely included the abstract submission link. Abstract submission will be open only to those who are accepted to present at the meeting. Those interested in presenting at the OPAG meeting should contact Dr. Cable as stated above.

Poster presentations are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Poster dimensions should be 44” x 44” maximum. Poster presenters can advertise their poster with a single PowerPoint slide in a lightning session immediately prior to the poster session.

The LPI is located at 3600 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, Texas 77058. (Area Map)

Lunch is independent of the workshop, so meeting participants may choose from a variety of restaurants within driving distance from the LPI.

Accommodations

A block of rooms has been reserved at a group rate of $112.00 per night under “OPAG 2020” at the Holiday Inn Webster, 302 West Bay Area Blvd. Houston, TX 77598 (Tel:  281-333-9300). Rates are inclusive of breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and attractions.

Airport Information

The Houston area is serviced by two major airports:  Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (42 miles from the workshop venue) and Hobby Airport (HOU) (16 miles from the workshop venue).

Shuttle Information

Limited parking is available at the Lunar Planetary Institute (LPI). There will be designated visitor parking spots on a first-come, first-served basis. All other attendees should park at the University Baptist Church located at 16106 Middlebrook Drive, Houston, TX 77059 and take the shuttle to the LPI.

Please use the University Baptist Church parking areas nearest Middlebrook Drive, north and west of the building. Do not park in the areas near the entrances.
