Applications are reviewed and accepted as they are submitted; the deadline to apply for the workshop is 5:00 P.M. CDT on October 1, 2023. Stipends are available for those who are able to accept them.
Location and Times

The Puerto Rico Culturally Inclusive Planetary Engagement workshop will take place November 2 & November 3, 2023 from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. each day. The workshop will be held in the meeting rooms at the:

Attire:
- Please dress comfortably (for instance, jeans and t-shirts are welcome).
- Please bring a jacket or light sweater in case the meeting room is chilly.
- The climate in San Juan remains warm in November, with highs in the mid 80’s (F) and lows in the upper 70’s (5).
To bring:
Laptops or tablets are not needed for any of the discussions or activities. Cameras and cell phones are welcome.
Airports:
- Please make your travel arrangements fully refundable (or ensure you will be able to use the credits yourself).
- The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) is the closest airport.
Hotels:
- Please make your travel arrangements fully refundable (or ensure you will be able to use the credits yourself).
- There are a variety of hotels in San Juan. We will be holding the meeting at DoubleTree, but you are welcome to stay at any location.
- If you would like to share a room, please consider reaching out to other attendees by email, phone, or using the Slack channel.
COVID Precautions:
- If traveling, please consider taking a precautionary COVID test 24 hours before traveling to Puerto Rico to avoid needing to quarantine after you arrive.
- If you are not feeling well or have any COVID symptoms, please take a COVID test before coming to the workshop.
- If you are COVID positive, please cancel your plans to attend this workshop; we will put you at the top of the list to attend future workshops.
- Hand sanitizer, masks, and COVID rapid tests will be available at the workshop.
