Dear Colleague Letter to Solicit Proposals for HISAKI Guest Investigator Program (HISAKI-GI)

Dear Colleagues,

NASA is soliciting proposals for a Hisaki Guest Investigator Program in collaboration with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

Hisaki is a Japanese ultraviolet astronomy spacecraft operated by JAXA. This JAXA mission was launched in September 14, 2013, to study Jupiter’s aurora and Io torus in the Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) spectra. The HISAKI spacecraft has an elliptical orbital apogee of 1157km and with a perigee of 947km; the main science instrument is the Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) spectroscope (EXCEED). Hisaki has a secondary science objective to observe Mars and Venus in the extreme ultraviolet.

More information on HISAKI is available at: http://www.isas.jaxa.jp/home/sprint-a/index_en.html
