Dr. Wolf Elston, noted volcanologist and early planetary geologist (and Professor Emeritus at the University of New Mexico), died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016. He did Mars research using Mariner 9 data and early PG&G analog studies in the 1970s. Several of us in the planetary geology community received our start as his students.
