A new workshop will be held on July 21, 2017 – the Friday after the SSERVI ESF. This workshop will focus on “Autonomy in Future SMD Missions.” This workshop is sanctioned by the SMD Chief Technologist, Michael Seablom, and the SOC will be headed up by Terry Fong from NASA Ames. This will largely be an open-discussion workshop, anchored by a few overview talks and then with discussion periods, breakout sessions and panels. Registration for both the ESF and the Autonomy workshop will be through the ESF website at https://nesf2017.arc.nasa.gov/
The workshop details are TBD, but for the sake of planning your travel, plan on staying an extra day at the Forum if you’re interested in autonomous exploration of planetary surfaces!
