Special Journal Issue on This Year’s Mars Global Dust Storm

Global or planet-encircling dust storms are one of the most fascinating features of the Martian atmosphere and climate. With two rovers on the surface and six spacecraft in orbit, in conjunction with terrestrial observations, the 2018/Mars Year 34 storm was the most comprehensively observed Martian planet-encircling dust storm in history. A joint special issue between the Journal of Geophysical Research-Planets, the Journal of Geophysical Research-Space Physics, and Geophysical Research Letters will open on October 1 to collect research papers on this storm and martian global dust storms in general. The issue will be open through March 1, 2019.
