The International Lunar Observatory Association (ILOA) Galaxy Forum Hainan 2018 is being held December 4-7, 2018 on ‘China’s Hawaii’ and southernmost province Hainan Island. The themes are “International Human Moon Missions” and “Astronomy from the Moon.” It is co-sponsored by Chinese Society of Astronautics, International Astronautical Federation, National Astronomical Observatories of China, and Canadian Space Agency.
Key speakers include Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, first Chinese astronaut Yang Liwei, Professor Ziyuan Ouyang, Dr. Christian Feichtinger, Mr. Gilles Leclerc, Ms. Emeline De Antonio, Dr. Maria Antonietta Perino, astronaut Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, Dr. Chris Sallaberger, Mr. Henk Rogers, Mr. Takeshi Hakamada, and others.
Between 100-200 participants are expected to attend, including international leading lunar scientists, engineers, space agency experts, astronomers, space community professionals, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts. The principal objective of Galaxy Forum Hainan is to help realize humans on the Moon as soon as reasonably possible and to enable technologies and human expansion into the solar system.
