On May 13, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine unveiled the name of the new lunar program: Artemis. In Greek mythology, Artemis was the goddess of the Moon and the twin sister of Apollo. The Artemis Program plans to land the first women and the next men on the Moon in 2024. Their destination will be the lunar south pole, which has not yet been visited by humans.
