The NASA/SSERVI Analogs Focus Group is focused on enabling terrestrial analog research in support of planetary science and exploration. The Analogs Focus Group is open to the community and we welcome any interested parties to join the Analogs listserv in order to receive Focus Group information and participate in any of the Focus Group activities.
The NASA/SSERVI Analogs Focus Group is running a new virtual seminar series focused on terrestrial analog research. These seminars will be ~20 minutes in length (with 10 minutes for Q&A) and will focus on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, science, exploration, logistics, funding opportunities, etc.
We may also have discussions on topics such as selecting the optimal field site, infusing science & exploration results into mission architectures, etc.
Seminars will typically be the first Friday of January, April, July, and October each year at 9 am Pacific/noon Eastern.
We will use the Zoom collaborative tool for audio and video: https://sservi.zoom.us/j/338716186
We will kick-off the Analogs seminar series at the upcoming SSERVI Exploration Science Forum (ESF, July 2019) during our annual Analogs Focus Group meeting. The ESF schedule is not posted yet – so once details are available, we will confirm the date of the first seminar (to be held during the Forum).
The first talk will be by Darlene Lim focused on “Successful management and execution of analog field campaigns”.
If you are interested in being added to the Analogs Focus Group Listserv and/or giving a seminar re. analog activities, please send an email to [email protected] (you may also cc [email protected] & [email protected]).
Thanks very much for your interest in terrestrial analog research to support space exploration !
