ROSES-19 Amendment 14: C.3 Solar System Workings now allows fieldwork in Antarctica.
Solar System Workings (SSW) supports research into atmospheric, climatological, dynamical, geologic, geophysical, and geochemical processes occurring on planetary bodies, satellites, and other minor bodies (including rings) in the Solar System. This call seeks to address the physical and chemical processes that affect the surfaces, interiors, atmospheres, exospheres, and magnetospheres of planetary bodies. The Solar System Workings program is open to investigations relevant to surfaces and interiors of planetary bodies, planetary atmospheres, rings, orbital dynamics, and exospheres and magnetospheres. The Solar System Workings program values the potential of interdisciplinary efforts to solve key scientific questions. The program also values research in comparative planetology. Research supported by this call may cover a wide range of investigations including theoretical studies, data synthesis relevant to the physical and chemical processes affecting planetary systems, sample-based studies of extraterrestrial materials, laboratory studies that examine physical or chemical properties and processes, studies of sample or analog materials of other Solar System bodies, field studies of terrestrial analogs of planetary environments, and theoretical, analytical, and numerical modeling of physical or chemical processes.
Amendment 14 announces that C.3 Solar System Workings now allows Antarctic fieldwork and updates the text of Section 4.5 to include instructions regarding budgeting and acknowledgement in publications.
The due dates remain unchanged: Notices of intent to propose are requested by November 15, 2019 and proposals are due January 30, 2020.
On or about June 4, 2019, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement “Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2019” (NNH19ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2019 and will appear on the RSS feed at: https://science.nasa.gov/researchers/sara/grant-solicitations/roses-2019/
