SBAG Early-Career Opportunities

The 25th Meeting of the NASA Small Bodies Assessment Group (SBAG) is scheduled for June 7–8, 2021. The early-career small body community will have two opportunities at this meeting.

Invited Early-Career Speakers: Two early-career researchers will be selected to give 15-minute talks (including Q&A). Interested undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, and other early-career scientists (within 5 years of terminal degree) should submit a letter and two-page CV to the SBAG Early-Career Secretary, Terik Daly ([email protected]), by 5:00 p.m. EDT on April 9, 2021. The letter, not to exceed two pages, should explain how the applicant’s work relates to the purposes of SBAG, how the applicant plans to contribute to the meeting, and how the opportunity will advance the applicant’s career. The letter and CV should be combined into a single PDF attached to the email. We encourage applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences to apply.

Lightning Talks: The agenda will include early-career scientists and engineers time to introduce themselves and their research to the community. Talks will be approximately three minutes each, with the exact length depending on the number of presenters. If you are interested in giving a lightning talk, e-mail [email protected] by 5:00 p.m. EDT on May 7, 2021. Attach a single slide, in PDF format, with your name, affiliation, and a figure or two that highlights your research. We encourage presenters from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.
