We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to lead a series of low-pressure wind tunnel experiments to understand the formation of eolian ripples under a range of atmospheric pressures. This work is funded by a NASA Solar System Workings grant. The postdoctoral scholar will be appointed at Stanford University under the supervision of Dr. Mathieu Lapôtre, lead and conduct the experiments at the NASA Ames Research Center, and collaborate with Drs. Ryan Ewing (Texas A&M) and Christy Swann (Naval Research Laboratory). Applicants must demonstrate expertise in sediment transport and flow hydrodynamics/aerodynamics. Previous experience with Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is strongly desired.
