We are excited to announce the 2023 Black In Astro Travel Grants supported through a grant from the Heising-Simons Foundation and The Ohio State University Department of Astronomy. The 2023 Black In Astro Travel Grants were developed to support traditionally marginalized students in the space sciences. This travel grant is intended for Black students who have been underrepresented and excluded in the space sciences as a way to support inclusion and participation.

Black In Astro will be supporting six travel grants of $500 each to support travel, registration, and lodging expenses for a space-related workshop, conference, or winter/summer school of the recipient’s choice. Events may be virtual, hybrid, or in-person. The application will close May 1 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Applicants will be notified of grant status on May 15. 

Please note that applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university in the United States in either a Master’s or Ph.D. program.
