13. Sharp-Edged Cirrus, Namibia

This oblique photograph taken over Namibia reveals another effect of jet streams. Here two streams converge; cloud has formed in the corridor between the two streams. Turbulence along the margins of the jet stream may explain the sharp boundary.

STS 41-D, August-September 1984. Picture #14-31-096.
